John Greaves recently released a new album called "Piacenza" (Dark Companion 2015).

The album´s track number 16 is (a rehearsals bonus track) Robert Wyatt´s "Sea Song".

I have not heard it yet, but will probably order from Ma.Ra.Cash Records or Amazon France.

John Greaves: Steinway Grand Piano, vocals.
Annie Barbazza: vocals and piano on “Sea Song”,
background vocals on “The Song”
Paola Tagliaferro: background vocals on “The Song”.

Hey, any readers present in Koncertkirken in Copenhagen 23 October during the "G((o))ng Tomorrow" - festival?

Based on music by Nico and Robert Wyatt.

Danish paper Weekendavisen didn´t seem all too happy (Danish link), saying that that the main purpose seemed to be to "add some classical elegance to the original songs" (my not too good translation there).

More reviews somewhere?

Mojomakerz

Mojomakerz are Paul Hegarty and Ian James Stewart. Robert Wyatt sings background vocals on "Ship of Fools" and "Weirdiful You" on their new album "Tales for sunrise" (Weirdiful You Records 2015).

"Weirdiful You" is also among the four tracks of Youth (Martin Glover) mixes to be found on a separate blue disc (to be played on 45 rpm) on my double limited, vinyl edition.
Watch the video uploaded by Mojomakerz, and you will see some groovy cooking too!

Among the other artists featured let´s just mention BJ Cole.

And the music? This is what they say themselves: "It's a mixture of electronic, ambient, rock, chilled music, some tracks are instrumental, some have vocals".

Hugh Hopper 10 CDs

I have not started buying or listening to the 10 CD series dedicated to unreleased (true for all tracks??) material from Hugh Hopper yet (Gonzo 2014-2015), but at least I have started to check out the info on the net! On Discogs you may find out the track lists and the personnel of each CD.

Robert Wyatt is present on:

- "Memories" on "Memories" Vol.1. (drums)
- "Facelift" (five versions) on "Anatomy of a Facelift" Vol.2. (drums)
- "Was a friend" on "Was a Friend" Vol. 10. (vocals, piano).

And perhaps on "Bass on Top" Vol.8 too! According to Discogs: "..snippets of Robert Wyatt's background vocals were added to the recording by Hugh Hopper, but Wyatt is not credited on the release; it's not 100% sure that recordings of his voice were actually used".

Any reviews around that we should have read?

The São Paulo Tapes - Brazilian resistance songs

In September we had a post on Mônica Vasconcelos and her crowd funding campaign to make it possible to produce an album of Brazilian resistance songs, 'The São Paulo Tapes', with the help of Robert Wyatt.

That posting happened a bit too fast, but now is the time! The IndieGoGo site is now up and running, so check it out right here.
